The OS/Driver on the host has nothing to do with it. Again, what matters is the driver/resolution on your accessing device. You can set the resolution in the iDRAC but the device you are accessing it from needs to support that resolution. What is a Windows driver going to do in this case?

The iDRAC runs an embedded version of Linux.

However, even if there were a monitor, I'd want more than 640x480 resolution, so the question how else would you install a Hyper-V server if not bare metal? Also, the idrac, as far as I can tell, will only pass through the host OS I see where the idrac supports resolutions up to 1280x1024, but you still only get what the OS supports.Īgain, this is not a show stopper for me, but for the rare occasion when it's necessary to access the server via idrac, it would be nice to avoid the frustration of being limited to 640x480 resolution. Thanks for the replies guys, Who said anything about the idrag gui from the server itself? I run my servers headless.
